The Applied nanoPhysics Group has been launched in October 2009 at the Physics Department of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

Since 2012 we moved to the Center for Bionanoscience Research (CIBION) of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), while Prof. Stefani still holds his position at the Physics Department of the University of Buenos Aires.

We explore the properties and technological applications of nanoscale materiales, including nanoparticles, single molecules, nanostructured materials as well as biological and hybrid nanosystems. Our tools are optical microscopy and spectroscopy, fluorescence, single molecule detection, super-resolution microscopy (STED, STORM), and manipulation by optical forces.
